The mission of Gateway Transition Center, Inc. is to honor the inherent dignity of individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families while providing support during the transition to adulthood through programming aimed at promoting satisfying interpersonal relationships, facilitating fulfilling vocational opportunities, and fostering independent living skills.
The Day Program at Gateway Transition Center helps young adults with autism develop fundamental social, pre-vocational, and life skills needed to live, work, and thrive in the community.
Gateway Ink is a social enterprise screen printing business that allows for a part-time volunteer and paid work experience for individuals with autism and a job skills “laboratory”, where participants learn how to be a model employee in a supported environment. Gateway Ink employee-trainees also receive small group instruction on money management and job-related social expectations.
The High School Summer Program at Gateway Transition Center helps youth with autism to start thinking about their futures and practicing skills needed for independence after high school.
