American Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge

Who We Are

As the largest voluntary health organization in the world, we are passionately committed to saving lives from cancer. In an effort to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays, we have prioritized our program of work to ensure that we are making the greatest possible impact in our community.

 Our top priorities include:

  • Helping patients navigate through their cancer experience and overcome barriers to successfully completing their treatment.
  • Investing in unique groundbreaking research, including our third and largest study to date, Cancer Prevention Study-3.
  • Advocating for policies to protect people from the two biggest cancer killers, tobacco and obesity, increasing federal research funding, and improving access to quality healthcare.
  • Working with governments, health systems, corporations, and communities, here and around the world, to reach as many people as we can with our lifesaving work.
