Volunteers, in groups of two, will work with one of four small groups of 10 campers ranging in age from 6 - 12. Counselors escort the campers to rotating activities around the museum, look after them, and help them play games, make crafts, and more. This year's theme, "Tales from the Bayou," promises to bring stories to life from the Atchafalaya waterways. Encounter a baby alligator, learn how to canoe enjoy a crawfish race, and explore local history through song, dance, foreign language, and nature exploration presented by museum staff, visiting artists, performers, storytellers, and linguists.
This is a 5 day project from Monday, June 26th - Friday, June 30th from 8am - 4pm each day. Volunteers need to bring lunch each day.
